FIRE SAFETY AND EVACUATION PLAN

A description of the fire drill and evacuation procedures for a structure.

• Purpose: To establish a method of systematic, safe and orderly evacuation of an area or facility by and of its occupants in case of fire emergency, in the least possible time, to a safe area or by the nearest safe means of egress; also the use of such available fire appliances (including sounding of alarms) as may have been provided for the controlling or extinguishing of fire and the safeguarding of human life.

• Objective: To provide proper education as part of continuing employee indoctrination and through a continuing written program for all occupants, to assure the prompt reporting of fire, the response to fire alarms as designated, and the immediate initiation of fire safety procedures to safeguard life and contain fire until the arrival of the Fire Department.

EMERGENCY DISASTER PLAN

Sets forth the circumstances and procedures for sheltering in place, in-building relocation, partial evacuation or evacuation of building occupants in response to a non-fire emergency.

• Purpose: To establish a method of systematic, safe and orderly evacuation of an area or facility by and of its occupants in case of a non-fire emergency, in the least possible time, to a safe area or by the nearest safe means of egress; also the use of such available fire appliances (including sounding of alarms) and the safeguarding of human life.

• Objective: To provide proper education as part of continuing employee indoctrination and through a continuing written program for all occupants, to assure the prompt reporting of emergency condition, the response to alarms and notifications as designated, and the immediate initiation of safety procedures to safeguard life and contain fire until the arrival of responding authorities.
